Posada Pinata Finale @ Blush

Alma Hispanic Coalition (HisCo) is partnering with downtown businesses to organize a "Posada" for the night of the 14th. Posadas are traditional at this time of year in Mexico, parts of the US, and other parts of Latin America as a reenactment of Mary and Joseph searching for "posada" (lodging). "Pilgrims" start at one location (in our case, Café-n-español at 7pm), then go door to door (designated stops-- in our case Belleza, Alma Barber Shop, and Terry's Tex Mex) requesting "posada." There is singing at each stop where the pilgrims are told there is no room, and they move on. At the final stop (in our case, Highland Blush at approximately 7:30pm), they are finally let in and a party ensues with a piñata, snacks, and music.
